The
Folder List task pane is probably one task pane that you will have open all the
time. It allows you easy access to the files and folders of your Expression

couple of different programs to open the file based on the file extension and

But
don't worry - Expression Web has something built in to help you out.
It will usually ask you "If you change a filename extension, the file may become
unsuable. Are you sure you want to change it?" If you choose no, the
file name will not change. If you choose yes, the file name will change to
the name you entered.
If,
for some reason, you do not have Expression Web managing your website with the
metadata, you might get another error message: "Renaming a file or folder will
break any hyperlinks to it in the current Web site. To avoid this
problem, on the Site menu, click Site Settings, and then select the check box to
manage the site using metadata files. Do you want to continue?" If
you choose no, you will be able to change the site settings. If you choose
yes, the file will be renamed and any relative paths to the file will not be
updated.
