Reset Workspace Layout

Thursday, January 08, 2009
On the menu of Expression Web, there is one menu item called Task Panes (ALT-K).  This workspace has a few default task panes opened when you start Expression Web:
  1. Folder List
  2. Tag Properties
  3. CSS Properties
  4. Toolbox
  5. Apply Styles
  6. Manage Styles
These task panes will help you create, manage, delete, add styles (internal, external, inline) along with adding some Form Controls (both HTML and ASP.NET), Media, Navigation, Validation, and many more items.

Resetting the workspace layout will not delete any pages / files / code from your Expression Web website.  Expression Web Folder List Task PaneIt will only change the way Expression Web looks.  It might remove some task panes or add a few Task Panes.  Any Task Panes that is not needed can easily be closed by either clicking on the X in the upper right corner of that Task Panes, or by going to Task Panes (ALT-K) and then checking (or unchecking) the proper Task Panes.  You will notice that your workspace that you use to create your web pages might increase if you delete some Task Panes or decrease if you add more Task Panes.

You can also see a screen shot of Expression Web with the basic Task Panes when you reset the workspace layout.
